Checking Concurrent License Use for the QEST Platform

QEST Platform 5.7 Documentation
Applies to All

This article describes how to access information related to the historical use of licenses for all QEST Platform products for your organisation.

Contents

Overview

System administrators may wish to monitor license usage to ensure enough licenses are available for all products. This will avoid end users encountering the error messages detailed in the QESTField License Warnings article. Concurrent License Usage can be monitored from the License Usage page in the QEST Web App. To access this you will need the system administrator permission.

The controls allow you to change the period to review and the licensed products included in the results.

Charts

One of three different charts will be displayed depending on the time period selected, examples for each period are shown below.

7 Days

Displayed at an hourly interval.

1 Month

Displayed at a daily interval.

6 Month

Displayed at a monthly interval.

Peak License Usage Table

When one or more products are selected, a table will be shown below the chart outlining the Maximum Concurrent Usage for each selected product during the given period. In addition the table will also show the actual number of user licenses available in order to compare the maximum to the number of available licenses.

Download License Usage Data

Concurrent License Usage data can be downloaded as a CSV file for analysis outside of QEST Platform. The file will contain the raw data that is used to create the charts and table based on the products and time period chosen. The name of the CSV file will be in the form "qestplatform_license_usage_{start date}_{end date}" where "{start date}" and "{end date}" are based on the chosen duration period.

License Warning Emails

A link to the License Usage page to review historical usage is included in the license warning emails as shown in the example below.
