Image Resizing Options

This article describes the options available for resizing images for attaching to test reports where the images are uploaded in QEST Web App worksheets and in QESTField workflows.

Overview
When uploading images in QEST Web App worksheets and QESTField workflows, options exist to resize the the image file. Image resizing is recommended. The general option for image resizing is configured in the QEST Administrator Console.
The options described in this article are not honored when images are attached to reports directly through QESTLab.
Enable Image Resizing
To allow image resizing, navigate to Configuration>Options>General>Image Resizing and set it to True. When enabled, large images will be resized on the user’s device prior to being uploaded.
Setting the Image Resizing Size
To specify a small, medium, large, extra large or custom size for the image resizing, navigate to Configuration>Options>General>Image Resizing - Size

Custom Image Size
When the Image Resizing - Size option is set to Custom, further options need to be configured.
Custom JPEG Quality
If desired, a compression level can be set when uploading a JPEG file format by navigating to Configuration>Options>General>Image Resizing - Size>Custom JPEG Quality
The default value for this setting is 0.9 so changing this to a value between 0 and 1 is optional. Values above 0.9 will result in minimal compression. Values below 0.6 may result in visibly degraded image quality.
Custom Image Height and Width
To set the image height for a custom image size in pixels, navigate to Configuration>Options>General>Image Resizing - Size>Custom Maximum Height.

Configuration>Options>General>Image Resizing - Size>Custom Maximum Width
Images will be scaled proportionally to fit within the specified target width and height.
