Overview

Email and Push Notifications can be configured through the QEST Web App's Notifications administration page. Notification settings are required if the QESTField App and QESTField Scheduler are being used within the organisation in order to allow push notifications to be sent to devices.

The following properties can be set on this page:

• The Email settings section controls how email notifications are sent:
  • Use Email Address of Issuing User: If checked, notifications will be sent from the email address of the user who is issuing the notifications. This setting is unchecked by default.
    
  • Default Email Address: This specifies the default email address notifications will be sent from. If Use Email Address of Issuing User is checked, this address will be used if the issuing user does not have an email address configured. If Use Email Address of Issuing User is unchecked this address will always be used.
• The Push settings section controls how push notifications for the QESTField app are sent:

  • Enable Push Notifications: If checked, push notifications will be sent to field technicians who have logged into the QESTField app on a device with push notifications enabled. If this is not checked, notifications will always be sent via email. This setting is unchecked by default.

    Push notifications can only be enabled if the QESTNet Configuration Key has been installed. Kindly contact Spectra QEST for assistance with installing the QESTNet Configuration Key.

This configuration only applies to notifications that are sent as either a push notification or email. This includes:

• Field Work Schedule confirmation

Other emails sent via QESTField / QESTNet (e.g. administrator warnings, QESTField workflow emails) have separate configuration.
