This article describes the process for installing and providing access tot he QESTNet Configuration Key file

Overview
The following process will install the key required to decrypt sections of the QESTNet configuration file during runtime which were encrypted using the QESTNet Configuration Key. This process needs to be performed:
The first time an encrypted configuration section is introduced to a customer’s QESTNet configuration file
When the server hosting QESTNet changes
When the user account running the QESTNet service changes
This process should be completed by Spectra QEST staff.
Installation Process
- Obtain the QESTNet Configuration Key file from Spectra QEST
Install the key file using aspnet_regiis
aspnet_regiis is located in the .NET framework folder, usually %WINDIR%\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319
Run the following command:
Installation Commandaspnet_regiis -pi QESTNetConfigurationKeyContainer <KEY_FILE_PATH>
- Provide the user who will be running the QESTNet service with access to the key.
- Run the following command:Access Command
aspnet_regiis -pa QESTNetConfigurationKeyContainer <USER_NAME>
- Run the following command:
User name format
The username must be given in the form domain\username rather than username@domain
