Troubleshooting guide

Installation

Unspecified Error

The following installation error ‘0x80072ee7 – Unspecified Error’,  is most likely due to the installer being unable to download and install .Net Framework 4.6.1.

The issue can be confirmed by viewing the log file and looking for the following: Failed attempt to download URL: 'http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=671728' to: 'C:\Windows\Temp{B321459C-617D-4C9F-8C70-15AEEE5945CF}\NetFx461Web'

Fix: To install the QEST Web App, download .NET Framework 4.6.1 and install it prior to installing the QEST Web App. The .NET Framework 4.6.1 Installer can be found here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/help/3102436/the--net-framework-4-6-1-offline-installer-for-windows

URL Rewrite 2.1 Required

If the IIS extension URL Rewrite is missing or has not been installed correctly, the installer will show an error during installation, stating that it cannot find URL Rewrite. The URL Rewrite Installer can be found here: https://www.iis.net/downloads/microsoft/url-rewrite

Additional Errors

The following error 'could not load file or assembly system.management.automation' when attempting to restart QESTNET via the QEST Web App, is due to not having the correct version of Powershell installed.

This can be confirmed by determining which version of Powershell is installed and if it is version 2.0, then upgrading to version 4.0 should fix the issue.

Configuration Changes

When changing the config files that are part of the installed QEST Platform IIS website, be sure to Stop and Start the QEST Platform site to reload the website with the changes. Simply clicking Restart the config changes will not be loaded.
