Concrete Specimen Data Entry (US)
QEST Platform 5.2 Documentation
Applies to QESTLab
Data entry methods for laboratory tests on concrete specimens for US customers, and others using US test methods.
Contents
Concrete Strength
When testing concrete for strength, there is a need to be able to identify the specimens due for testing on a particular day. If the concrete specimens due for testing are known and a computer is available for the direct input of test data, testing results can be entered through their Concrete Sample screen in QESTLab. However, this is not the most convenient method to use when large numbers of results are required to be entered.
QESTLab offers three options for recording test results for concrete specimens. The option used will depend on the setup of the laboratory:
- Printing a daily worksheet
If there is no computer running QESTLab conveniently located to enter test data when testing concrete, then a worksheet can be printed, and the results hand-written on the worksheet and entered into QESTLab later. - Producing an electronic worksheet
If a computer is available for the direct input of test data, QESTLab provides an electronic worksheet for direct entry of test data by the tester. - Automatic capture of test results using the QEST Equipment Interface
If the equipment is interfaced with QESTLab, QESTLab can capture test data directly from testing machines. See Configuring Equipment Interfacing for more details.
The four access points for entering concrete specimen strength testing data into QESTLab are:
- Concrete Diameter Document
- Concrete Sample Screen (US)
- Concrete Specimen Electronic Worksheet
- QEST Crush Station
Density of Hardened Concrete
When testing concrete for density, there is a need to be able to identify the specimens due for testing on a particular day. If the concrete specimens due for testing are known and a computer is available for the direct input of test data, testing results can be entered through their Concrete Sample screen, in QESTLab. However, this is not the most convenient method to use when large numbers of results are required to be entered.
